Earlier this week, Cities Changing Diabetes was featured at a policy and coalition-building event at the European Parliament in Brussels, European Action for a HealthyLifestyle4All, supporting the EU NCD initiative (Healthier Together).

Cities Changing Diabetes featured at the European Parliament

The Cities Changing Diabetes programme was presented as an exemplar partnership between civil society, policymakers, academia, city administrations and the private sector to further healthier lives for citizens.

Bo Wesley from the Cities Changing Diabetes programme team presented the programme’s network, ambitions and experiences. Other presented initiatives were JOGG, the impressive driver of healthy environments for youngsters in the Netherlands, and an inspiring Madrid programme to transform schools into health-promoting settings.

The event was organised by the  International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA) and a group of partner organisations. Going forward, Cities Changing Diabetes will explore opportunities for developing joint actions and do-it-in-your-community action toolkits with ISCA.
